History and Presence in the Salmon Industry
2011
Dreaming Big
TOPTAINER was founded with the dream of becoming a major player in land and maritime logistics in southern Chile; proof of this is that, from day one, the isotype of our logo wanted to represent the wheel of a truck, the propeller of a ship and the turbine of an airplane, the main means of transporting cargo.
2012
The Beginning of the Story
We began operations with just 10 container chassis and a 1999 truck, renting an office from the Puerto Montt port authority (Empormontt).
The first route we operated was Puerto Montt – Puerto Chacabuco – Puerto Montt, for which we also leased a plot of land in Puerto Chacabuco to park our transport equipment.
2014 - 2017
Growth in Land Transportation
By this time, we had already established a major transportation operation, which had enabled us to build a fleet of approximately 48 transport vehicles.
2018
Launch of the Natales Route
We began operations on the Puerto Montt–Puerto Natales route.
2019
Expansion of service lines
We expanded our land transport operation and complemented them with strategic services such as logistics for transporting dirty nets, logistics for removing and transporting salmon silage.
2020
Construction of our first terminal
In the midst of the pandemic, we made the decision to build our first logistics terminal in Puerto Montt, covering 2,500 square meters on a one-hectare site, which served as the foundation for the development of our warehousing and cross-docking business.
2021
Acquisition of the Puerto Chacabuco land
Purchase of the land on which we would eventually develop our Puerto Chacabuco distribution center.
2023
Expansion of the Puerto Montt distribution center
Expansion of our Puerto Montt distribution center (2,000 m² warehouse).
Construction of our Puerto Chacabuco distribution center (office and 500 m² warehouse).

Expansion of the Puerto Chacabuco Terminal
Expansion of our distribution center in Puerto Chacabuco by 1,300 m² of warehouse space and development of cargo storage areas in the Río Álvarez sector.
2024
Land Logistics Consolidation
Consolidation of the land logistics business, with 200 transport vehicles in operation, 8,000 m² of warehouses, and 93,000 m² of operational yards, 300 watertight containers for transporting nets, and 1,600 m³ of liquid bulk removal capacity in Tanktainers.
2025
Entry into Maritime Transport
Entry into maritime transport with the acquisition of the multipurpose barge named “Griega,” which allows us to efficiently integrate land logistics with maritime logistics.
Health Regulations for Tanktainers and Silage Containers
We guarantee containment, hygiene, and traceability for liquid cargo and byproducts
- Current health authorizations issued by Regional Health Authority (SEREMI) for the operation of tanktainers and open-top silage containers
- Technical scope: 100% leak-proof equipment, valve and seal inspection, washing log, and cleaning and disinfection certificates issued by an authorized external service provider.
